The Goldsmiths’ centre partners with Weston Beamor to boost manufacturing educationThe Goldsmiths’ Centre in London has launched a new educational partnership with UK jewellery manufacturer, Weston Beamor, offering emerging creative businesses a greater insight into manufacturing processes.
Senior staff from Weston Beamor will be helping to support emerging jewellery and silversmithing businesses taking part in the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s year-long business incubation programme, Setting Out.
Through both site visits and virtual mentoring, the aim is to grow the participants’ understanding of manufacturing processes as they develop their new collections and help them to develop their supply chains.
Director of the Goldsmiths’ Centre, Peter Taylor, explains: “Weston Beamor are one of the most respected and trusted names in the UK jewellery industry. By working together, we firmly believe that those participating in the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s Setting Out course will get greatly benefit from a deeper understanding of the manufacturing process, helping them to scale up their businesses.”
“As a result of investment in new technology and our people, Weston Beamor are industry leaders in commercial and bespoke fine jewellery manufacture. With more than 800 years of knowledge, we have a highly skilled manufacturing team spanning across CAD, 3D printing, goldsmithing and diamond setting,” comments Weston Beamor managing director, Andrew Morton. “We’re therefore delighted to be sharing our knowledge and expertise helping creative jewellery and silversmithing businesses in the UK to effectively outsource elements of their production processes to increase volume and market reach.”
